Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor Position Summary Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities of mobile equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This position coordinates maintenance efforts for plant equipment and vehicles while supporting timely repairs and minimizing equipment downtime. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and programs to keep mobile equipment and vehicles operating safely and effectively. Coordinate and oversee equipment repairs to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and with minimal impact to operations. Evaluate equipment condition and provide recommendations regarding repair, rebuilding, or replacement when appropriate. Identify required spare parts and ensure necessary materials and outside services are available to support equipment maintenance needs. Monitor work orders and maintenance records to ensure proper tracking of repairs and maintenance activities. Provide training and guidance to mechanics to enhance technical skills and reinforce safe equipment maintenance practices. Prepare maintenance-related reports, including production information, labor hours, and other required documentation. Provide direction and scheduling support for mechanics, welders, and other maintenance employees as needed. Coordinate daily repair activities along with mid- and long-term maintenance projects. Qualifications High school diploma or technical school certification required; technical degree or equivalent experience preferred. Experience in equipment maintenance preferred, with strong hands-on knowledge of: Diesel engines Hydraulic systems Electrical systems Water pumps Air compressors Experience maintaining and repairing complex equipment used in a steel scrap shredding facility and yard environment. Strong understanding of safe operating practices and the ability to anticipate equipment maintenance needs. Good communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain accurate records and complete reports in a timely manner. Computer skills required for spreadsheets, reporting, and maintenance documentation.
