What they do
A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

Company Description McWane Ductile Jersey is an industry leader in manufacturing water distribution and infrastructure products. As our country expanded, so did the need to supply growing cities with clean water and safely remove wastewater. Our location history starts in 1865 when Warren Foundry and Machine Company casted stoves, steam engines, mill gearing and other foundry related items. Currently we specialize in the casting of iron ductile pipes that range from 3" to 24" in diameter.

Pay Rate:
$75,000 to $85,000 Processes preventive and corrective maintenance work orders generated by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Generates break-in work orders for equipment repairs on the off-shift. Performs spare parts tracking of non-storeroom items. Orders miscellaneous items for work to be performed as needed. Required to contribute to the maintenance and engineering team efforts in a continuous pursuit of a world class maintenance program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other Duties may be assigned
- Tracks non-storeroom spare parts.
- Processes daily work orders.
- Generates PM work orders daily.
- Distributes required Inspection paperwork for Environmental Compliance
- Weekend work order schedule.
- Distributes Inspection paperwork for Safety Compliance Standards.
- Creates PM's and Job Plans to support the operation of the plant.
- Schedules 3rd party inspections as required by company policy.
- Work order data collection entry.
- Attends daily meetings with maintenance manager, daily logbook issues.
- Creates purchase requests for all the above and other maintenance material.
- Fosters positive work relationships.
- Observes all Company, housekeeping, safety and plant policies and procedures.
- Has strong written, oral, communication and facilitation skills.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
- Addresses errors, problems, and complaints within scope of authority.
- Keeps Maintenance Manager informed of important matters as they arise.

Experience:
Associate degree or 1-2 years related experience and/or training required; OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience. Experience with CMMS preferred.
Computer Skills:
Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications for word processing, email, database management and spreadsheets.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, Company policies, operating and procedure manuals and general instructions. Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. The ability to speak effectively and present information clearly to all audiences from upper management to employees.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to recognize budgetary constraints and utilize budgets for maximum effectiveness.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to utilize reports such as uptime and downtime reports to develop work orders and correct issues, minimizing downtime.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have a basic understanding of general technical knowledge and terminology.
