A Maintenance Planner improves workforce productivity and work quality of a maintenance organization by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Reports to Maintenance Manager and maintains liaison between Operations and Maintenance. Through supervision of the Maintenance Administrator, the planner is also responsible for maintenance of records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance-related matters.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports operational and maintenance teams for oil/gas processing facilities and compressor stations by planning and scheduling maintenance activities. This position is focused on utilizing manpower safely and effectively, maintaining company assets and their respective databases efficiently, and minimizing process downtime; all while ensuring all work is compliant with company standards, procedures, and government requirements. As a team member, this person will also assist in other duties as assigned and may include but is not limited to, Administrative, Maintenance, Inventory, Engineering, Operations and EH&S related activities. This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. The actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders across the organization to support collaborative planning and workload execution.
  • Coordinates and schedules maintenance activities using SAP, Scheduling software, and other tools, ensuring efficient resource allocation, minimal operational disruption, and compliance with regulatory (PHMSA, OSHA) and company policies.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and processes operational, maintenance, and/or financial data to maintain accuracy in systems, support compliance, and resolve discrepancies; compiles data for audits, performance analysis, and special studies.
  • Develops and maintains standardized job plans, bills of materials (BOMs), and asset master data within computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and enterprise asset management (EAM) systems to support consistent, efficient maintenance practices and asset management strategies.
  • Plans, estimates, and schedules maintenance and capital work, including labor, materials, and tools required; leverages tools like the Lost Opportunity Calculator to optimize timing and impact.
  • Leads or participates in downtime and project planning meetings, defining scopes of work and business impacts while aligning with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serves as SAP Super User, supporting field personnel in the work order process and participating in testing for system patches, enhancements, and new digital tools.
  • Supports development and alignment of maintenance strategies and budgets, contributing to continuous improvement of planning processes, cost control, and coast-to-coast standardization of asset management practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Two (2) years of related experience required.
