Employment Opportunity Community Development Superintendent, Range 25, $55.449.99 annually/$26.66/hr Open until filled. The City of Deming is seeking qualified applicants for a regular, full time Community Development Superintendent, in the Community Development Department. Incumbent reports directly to the Community Development Director. This position provides leadership and supervision to managers, supervisors, and staff across multiple City departments while ensuring daily operations run efficiently, comply with regulations, and align with the City's strategic goals. The role oversees budgets, resource allocation, and capital improvement projects, including infrastructure maintenance and interdepartmental services. Responsibilities include developing and implementing both short- and long-term operational plans, coordinating projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget, and serving as a liaison between City leadership, staff, and the community. The position also supports workforce development through training, mentoring, and performance management. The position manages up to six subordinate supervisors who, in turn, oversee as many as 60 employees in the Facilities Maintenance, Streets, Parks, Cemetery, Aquatics, and Fleet Services Departments. It is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, and directly supervises one non-supervisory employee. Desired Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in municipal operations or public services management, including supervisory responsibility over multiple teams or divisions. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
