Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department in a busy dealership with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive the profitability of the service shop. Your leadership will inspire a team of skilled technicians and service advisors to deliver top-quality automotive repairs and maintenance. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about automotive excellence, ready to motivate staff and elevate the customer experience. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, workflow, and customer interactions to maximize efficiency and satisfaction. Lead, train, and motivate a team of service technicians and advisors to ensure high performance standards are met consistently. Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance procedures, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols. Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate repair estimates, review work orders, and communicate effectively with customers about services needed. Implement upselling strategies by identifying additional services that benefit customers while increasing departmental revenue. Maintain thorough documentation of all repairs, estimates, and customer interactions using computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Ensure compliance with dealership policies, automotive repair regulations, and safety standards at all times. Handle cash transactions accurately and manage parts inventory efficiently to support service operations. Skills Proven experience in auto service management or dealership service departments with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes. Mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, alignment, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts, air brakes, and collision repair. Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools for accurate service writing and invoicing. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service while effectively upselling additional services. Strong leadership abilities to supervise technicians, manage workflow, and foster a positive team environment. Experience in auto estimating techniques combined with sales skills to promote recommended repairs confidently. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while managing parts inventory efficiently. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to drive company vehicles as needed. $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
