M. Landscape is a growing company with a large portfolio of commercial properties in which we provide superior Landscape and Snow & Ice management services throughout Western NY. The Area Manager role is essential in all aspects of our services and requires a passionate individual who can achieve excellent property management, communication with clients, and deliver exceptional results. This position is critical to ensuring that our services exceed client expectations while managing budgets, resources, and crew members efficiently. The Area Manager must have a strong ability to lead safety meetings, manage crews, approve crew hours, develop routes, and keep our clients satisfied. An ideal candidate would have a background in Account Management, Sales, and People Management. Key Responsibilities•
Commercial Landscape Operations:
Managing crews and client sites to ensure production is within contract of services and budgeted hours/expenses; control expenses and labor costs. Development of routes, coaching of Field Managers and Crew Members, and confirmation of high quality outcomes for both Landscape and Snow & Ice Removal.
Reporting:
Provide regular production/route/crew efficiency and forecasts to Director of Operations and Senior Leadership.
Administrative & Management:
Retention and coaching of Field Managers and Crew Members within company's standards. Time and work ticket approvals, managing employee changes, reviews, and training. Submission of all required forms and documentation within required timeframes. Understanding of and ability to consult RM Employee Handbook processes and procedures.
Quality Control:
Follow set procedures to ensure site evaluations are completed regularly and an issues addressed in a timely manner with Director of Operations. Guide Field Managers to understanding onsite production and time management.
Relationship Building and Collaboration:
Nurture strong relationships within the Rochester Branch with managers, administrative staff, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and crew members.
Procurement of Materials/Equipment:
Responsible for maintaining inventory of all equipment for crew, plus additional back-up to support season. Maintain open communication between Field Managers, Shop, and Field Operations Administrators for asset management to keep production at a high level of performance.
Client Portfolio:
Responsible for a large portfolio in both Landscape and Snow & Ice Removal seasons. Qualifications•
Experience:
5+ years of Landscaping and Snow & Ice Removal management (Preferred)
Communication Skills:
Good written and verbal communication skills (Required)
Problem Solving:
Strong analytical skill and problem solving with great attention to detail. (Required)
Account Management/Sales:
Has maintained a strong relationship with any assigned accounts/clients. Ability to create and deliver contract proposals. (Required)
Leadership & Management:
High level of leadership skills, initiative, and operational knowledge. (Required)
Landscape Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with commercial landscape, real estate, and/or regional landscaping trends. (Preferred) Valid Driver's License (Required) Compensation and Benefits

Landscape Season:
Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and overnights (As required)
Snow & Ice Removal Season:
24/7 On-Call Operations (Weather dependent) Work is performed inside an office environment, company vehicle, outside on yard, and/or client sites. Outside significant health and safety consideration exists from physical labor and/or weather elements.
