Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance activities in a fast-paced insulator manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and building infrastructure. The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of technicians and coordinates preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily activities of maintenance technicians across shifts.
• Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance for manufacturing equipment such as kilns, presses, extruders, mixers, ovens, and molding machinery.
• Ensure maintenance tasks comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as needed.
• Monitor inventory of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Oversee contractors and external service providers for specialized repairs or projects.
• Coach, train and develop maintenance staff on equipment, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
• Assist in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new installations.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience in the insulator or ceramics/glass industry is a strong plus.

Technical Skills:

• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
• Ability to read blueprints, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics.

Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities under pressure.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
• Requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be available for occasional on-call support during off-hours or weekends.

Pay:

$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
