- $70,000 annually (Live-in potential available) About the Role We are looking for a skilled, bilingual (English/Spanish) Site Superintendent to join the maintenance and operations team at a gated affordable housing campus in Mount Vernon, NY. The campus comprises two residential buildings
- a 110-unit property and a 65-unit senior residence
- and requires hands-on, reliable building supervision.
This is an urgent hire. A live-in arrangement may be available for the right candidate. We are hiring for one open position, with a second role potentially being filled from within. Key Responsibilities Perform and oversee general building maintenance across the campus, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair Conduct daily walkthroughs and building inspections; identify and address maintenance issues promptly Respond to tenant maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner Coordinate with the Property Manager and third-party vendors on larger repair and capital projects Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of common areas, mechanical rooms, and exterior grounds Monitor and maintain building systems (boilers, elevators, fire safety equipment) and ensure compliance with inspection schedules Communicate effectively with English
- and Spanish-speaking residents and staff Maintain logs of completed work orders, inspections, and vendor activity Support move-in/move-out processes and unit turnover preparation Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a building superintendent or maintenance technician, preferably in residential housing Bilingual in English and Spanish
- required Working knowledge of building systems: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general carpentry Experience in affordable housing, senior housing, or multi-family residential communities preferred
NYC / NYS
boiler certification or similar trade certifications a plus Ability to be on-call for after-hours emergencies Strong work ethic, reliability, and a resident-first attitude Must be comfortable working across two buildings on a shared campus Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $60,000
- $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
