Our reputation is built by the excellent service and repairs our team delivers. Who We Need We are interviewing service writers with true experience in an automotive service writing position. You are an energetic, customer service-oriented, and detail oriented individual. You communicate, read, and write well. Although service writers are in a sales position, we don't sell services; we communicate truthfully to our customers what their vehicle needs, educate them on what those needs mean, and leave the decision up to them whether they want to proceed with a repair. Your experience and knowledge in automotive repair are key; your understanding of how to price parts and repairs is very important. Your Day-to-Day Mornings consist of bringing in new vehicles, discussing service or concerns, and inputting all this detailed information plus the vehicle information into Tekmetric Coordinating with the technicians on who gets what vehicle Send inspection reports to the customers - following up with a customer should we find additional concerning items that we can recommend they do while their vehicle is in the shop Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services while managing customer expectations Ordering, inspecting, and returning parts Building accurate estimates that are priced right for the customer and for the business Handle credit card, check, and cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently while maintaining proper documentation Handling incoming calls, answering general questions, scheduling appointments, and answering general customer emails Experience Proven experience as a Service Writer or in auto service management within a dealership or automotive repair shop Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, suspension, air brakes, alignments, tire services, shocks & struts, oil changes, etc. Familiarity with Tekmetric Prior experience with auto service sales, repair/service education techniques, and client communication skills Knowledge of repair processes and automotive diagnostics techniques Valid driver's license with a clean driving record to facilitate test drives when necessary Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team while fostering a positive work environment
