Garage Supervisor - Fleet Maintenance Franklin, Ohio | On Site | $70,000 to $95,000 Base | Benefits A stable, well-established industrial services organization is hiring a hands-on Garage Supervisor to lead maintenance operations for its commercial truck and heavy-equipment fleet. This is not a desk-only management position. The Garage Supervisor will lead approximately eight mechanics across first and second shifts, establish daily priorities, maintain strong DOT compliance, and provide technical direction when difficult repairs arise. Key Responsibilities Lead, train, and support approximately eight mechanics. Assign and prioritize preventive maintenance, inspections, breakdowns, and safety-related repairs. Maintain DOT inspection standards, repair documentation, work orders, and service records. Provide hands-on support with diesel, brake, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues. Monitor repair quality, technician productivity, fleet availability, and shop safety. Coordinate parts, inventory, vendors, and outside repair services. Communicate equipment status and maintenance priorities to operations leadership. Keep the garage organized, accountable, and operating efficiently. Required Experience Leadership experience as a garage supervisor, fleet maintenance supervisor, shop foreman, lead technician, or service manager. Strong DOT inspection, documentation, and compliance experience. Hands-on commercial truck, diesel, or heavy-equipment maintenance background. Experience supporting brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, trailers, and preventive maintenance. Ability to lead technicians while remaining close to daily shop operations. Strong judgment, organization, communication, and follow-through. Equipment Environment The operation supports commercial trucks, trailers, CAT equipment, front-end loaders, Bobcats, forklifts, and other vocational and heavy equipment. Experience across multiple equipment types is preferred. Schedule First shift begins at approximately 6:00 a.m. This position is fully onsite and requires reasonable flexibility to support second-shift operations by phone or occasionally in person when needed.
