Shop Foreman

Position Summary  The position of Shop Foreman is an essential leadership role within Buckeye Valley Equipment. This position is responsible for overseeing shop operations, managing and supporting technicians, coordinating and scheduling workflow, communicating directly with customers, and ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and correctly the first time.  This is a hands-on leadership role in which the Shop Foreman will split time between performing equipment repairs and managing daily shop operations. The Shop Foreman is expected to lead by example by actively working alongside technicians while also overseeing workflow, productivity, customer communication, and shop organization. Reporting Relationships  The Shop Foreman reports directly to the Owners. The Shop Foreman will oversee Shop Technicians and coordinate daily workflow, technician scheduling, repair priorities, and communication between the shop, parts department, customers, and ownership. Requirements 

Education:

High school diploma or GED required 

Certifications:

None required, but industry certifications are preferred 

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of equipment repair experience preferred  Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred  Strong familiarity with Outdoor Power Equipment  Strong customer service and communication experience required Qualifications  Ability to balance hands-on repair responsibilities with leadership and management responsibilities  Strong organizational and time management skills while operating in a fast-paced shop environment  Ability to effectively prioritize personal repair work while coordinating workflow for all technicians  Must be comfortable operating as a 'working foreman' or 'wrenching manager' who actively participates in repairs while leading the team Duties and Tasks  This is a combined leadership, service management, and hands-on technician position. The Shop Foreman will divide responsibilities between actively repairing equipment and managing the daily operations and workflow of the shop.  Oversee and support all shop technicians  Schedule and assign shop work daily to maximize efficiency and productivity  Balance daily responsibilities between hands-on repair work and technician oversight  Lead by example through productivity, repair quality, professionalism, and teamwork  Communicate directly with customers regarding estimates, approvals, repair updates, delays, and recommendations  Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on customer equipment daily  Maintain organization and cleanliness of the shop  Ensure all work orders are properly documented and updated in the IDEAL system  Report shop performance, concerns, and staffing needs directly to Owners Customer Relationship Management  Seek to exceed customer expectations in all interactions  Build strong customer relationships through communication, honesty, and professionalism  Ensure timely communication regarding repair status and completion timelines Safety  Adhere to company safety program  Ensure personal and employee safety is always the top priority  Monitor work areas for safety hazards and correct immediately Measures of Performance  Meet or exceed company productivity goals  Efficient scheduling and completion of shop workflow  Proper administration of the IDEAL system  High customer satisfaction  Accident-free workplace

Pay:

$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
