Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and industrial systems within the hotel. Your leadership will ensure that all engineering functions operate smoothly, safely, and efficiently, creating a comfortable and safe environment for guests and staff alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise and management skills in a fast-paced hospitality setting dedicated to excellence. Duties Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, managing daily operations to ensure all systems are functioning optimally. Develop, implement, and oversee maintenance repair procedures for mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing systems, and high voltage equipment. Manage facilities maintenance management software (CMMS) to track work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and asset records. Conduct engineering troubleshooting for complex mechanical or electrical issues using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools. Ensure compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA standards by conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions for team members. Oversee project management activities related to facilities upgrades or repairs, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and equipment performance to support continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Proven management experience supervising facilities maintenance teams within a hospitality or industrial environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, electrical systems troubleshooting—including high voltage—and plumbing system maintenance. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, and engineering troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industrial safety procedures to promote a safe working environment. Experience with CMMS software for managing maintenance workflows effectively. Excellent team management skills with the ability to lead projects from planning through execution while maintaining high safety standards. Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus. Relevant certifications such as electrical experience licenses or HVAC certifications are preferred; ongoing training in safety regulations is highly valued.
