Job Description

MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Role Summary The Maintenance Manager has single focused accountability for developing, deploying and leading the maintenance team in support of the Middletown, Ohio location. This person will build and sustain a robust, high-performing maintenance team with the skills, experience and attitudes necessary to improve performance. They will develop and maintain preventative/predictive maintenance programs through the use of maintenance PM software. The Maintenance Manager will standardize continuous technical learning to promote current best practices. This role will continuously improve all maintenance activities and procedures and will support processes including infrastructure to ensure high equipment reliability and safe plant operations. They will ensure that the third-party storeroom is effectively managing parts inventory and meeting the support needs of the plant. Key Responsibilities Manages the annual maintenance and repairs operating budget for MDT site. Establish and maintain maintenance metrics. Instill the organizational discipline necessary to fully utilize the defined maintenance process to provide a world class foundation to achieve our objectives Champion and utilize the maintenance management system to control, analyze, keep records and report on maintenance activities. Manages maintenance related capital projects. Ensure proper steps and investigations are taken to resolve maintenance/reliability issues. Ensure maintenance procedures, job plans and LOTO documents are developed, implemented, and updated as necessary. Responsible for managing the PM program including documentation. Responsible for managing equipment records including drawings and mechanical integrity data. Manages and directs maintenance personnel, including maintenance planning and scheduling, maintaining morale and safety. Provide guidance to direct reports on their professional and career development. Develop and maintain competency and training requirements for maintenance department. Ensure all maintenance contractors are qualified and properly documented. Required Competencies Minimum of a BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. At least 10 years of industrial experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing. Demonstrated field experience in analyzing and determining needed corrective action in maintenance and project areas including leadership abilities. Proven verbal and written communication skills. Supervisory skills which include motivational as well as disciplinary. Set goals and conduct performance reviews of direct reports. Team player with proven relationship skills. Investigate and recommend capital projects to improve plant reliability and reduce maintenance spending. Successful record of new and maintenance repair project completion. Demonstrated ability in root cause failure analysis. Budgeting and accounting skills are necessary to cost-effectively manage projects and maintenance. Ability to make progress on multiple concurrent tasks. Ability to balance short and long-term plant needs. Due to the safety sensitive nature of this job, the incumbent must take and pass regular and routine chemical dependency tests Recommended Competencies Advanced courses in engineering and seminars in specific maintenance or project management areas. Strong background in project and / or maintenance management. Certification in maintenance or project supervisory training. Successful experience in capital projects. Personal computer skills Ability to perform economic evaluation of competing options. Join our growing team!
