Starting Pay Rate:
$12.50 starting rate and a FREE Family YMCA membership
Requirements:
Ensure the Y is a safe environment and excellent service to members, guests, and program participants. Continuously, walks through the building to ensure all program areas are problem-free. Secure building and YMCA property during shift. Engage with all members and reinforce safety and membership policies as needed. Handle and resolve incidents and hazardous conditions and inform supervisors of unusual situations or unresolved issues. Maintain all appropriate forms and documentation in accordance with these policies. Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and the YMCA. Create an environment where all individuals feel welcomed and respected. Clean and sanitize assigned areas and including tasks such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, window washing and trash removal. May also include other miscellaneous housekeeping activities such as clearing/shoveling sidewalks during inclement weather. Aid in the event of an emergency. Understand your role as a mandated reporter for elder and child abuse. Report and respond to situations in accordance with policies and procedures. Demonstrate and uphold the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and growth mindset in all aspects of your work. May be responsible for opening and closing the building.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 21 years of age Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Light work. Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. May be subject to noise. Occasionally subject to environmental conditions and unstable surfaces. Activities occur mostly inside.
Ability to:
Stand, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch occasionally during the work shift. Use hands and fingers for fine motor skills occasionally; walk on a variety of uneven surfaces and climbing stairs occasionally. Receive detailed information through sound as well as express through spoken word. Read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
