Job Description
Position Overview A well-established and high-volume automotive dealership in the Houston market is seeking an experienced and results-driven Service Director to lead all fixed operations within the service department. This is a confidential search for a proven leader who can drive performance, elevate customer satisfaction, and develop high-performing teams. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of operational excellence, profitability, and leadership within a dealership environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of the service department to achieve performance and profitability goals. Forecast, set, and execute departmental objectives aligned with overall business strategy. Drive revenue growth, productivity, and expense control within fixed operations. Ensure exceptional customer service and maintain or exceed CSI targets. Interview, hire, train, and develop service team members; monitor performance and accountability. Establish and maintain strong customer relationships to drive retention and referrals. Manage escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively. Monitor daily operations, including sales, production, and workflow efficiency. Develop and manage departmental budgets; analyze and address variances. Ensure proper repair processes, quality standards, and technician efficiency. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, safety, environmental, etc.) Oversee training initiatives to ensure team proficiency with current and emerging vehicle technologies. Ensure all shop equipment is properly maintained and operating safely. Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and operational best practices. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of Service Director-level experience within an automotive dealership (required) Proven track record of driving revenue growth and department profitability Strong leadership experience managing large teams (10+ employees) Demonstrated success in achieving and maintaining high CSI scores Deep understanding of fixed operations, service processes, and performance metrics Experience with dealership management systems (CDK preferred) Highly motivated, results-driven, and able to operate independently Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Professional presence with a high level of accountability and integrity Ability to thrive in a structured, process-driven environment High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record What We Offer Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life, disability) 401(k) with company match Paid time off Professional, performance-driven work environment Leadership opportunity with significant impact and growth potential •All applicants must pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, and drug testing in order to qualify for employment•
