$30.00-$35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications About the Position We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager / Lead Maintenance Technician to take ownership of maintenance and equipment reliability at our food production facility. Our facility operates three production lines producing a variety of food products, primarily for healthcare customers. This is a highly independent role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, preventing breakdowns, improving reliability, and keeping a production operation running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly respond to equipment issues while also looking beyond the immediate repair to identify the root cause and develop long-term solutions. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, packaging, and facility equipment. Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and general facility repairs. Maintain and improve a preventive maintenance program. Diagnose issues involving motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, sensors, controls, and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and electrical systems. Maintain equipment such as ribbon blenders/cookers, diaphragm pumps, emulsifiers, grinders, portioning and packaging equipment, conveyors, metal detectors, case tapers, printers, and coding equipment. Maintain facility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC/refrigeration, boilers, hot-water systems, compressed air, doors, docks, lighting, and other building systems. Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Coordinate outside contractors and service technicians when specialized work is required. Maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation. Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend permanent corrective actions. Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and capital projects. Work closely with Production, Operations, Sanitation, and Quality teams to maintain a safe and reliable production environment. Follow all required safety, Lockout/Tagout, food safety, and sanitation procedures. Help ensure equipment is properly restored to sanitary condition following maintenance work. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Previous industrial, manufacturing, or facility maintenance experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills. Experience repairing and maintaining motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatics, and related equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems. Ability to read schematics, equipment manuals, drawings, and parts diagrams. Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with production employees, management, vendors, and contractors. Willingness to perform both production equipment and general facility maintenance. Preferred Qualifications Food or beverage manufacturing experience. PLC troubleshooting experience. Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience. Experience with boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, or compressed air systems. Welding or fabrication experience. Experience developing or managing preventive maintenance programs. CMMS experience. Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout and industrial safety requirements. Familiarity with sanitary equipment and food manufacturing environments. Why Join Us? Ability to lift and move parts, equipment, and materials as required. Ability to work in production, warehouse, cooler/freezer, mechanical, and utility areas. Ability to respond to urgent equipment issues during scheduled working hours.
