40.0 Responsibilities Oversee daily machine shop operations as foreman, coordinating scheduling, staffing, and workflow across the CNC production floor to maintain safety, efficiency, and compliance, with flexibility for overtime coverage. Work with shift supervisors to review CNC production, quality, maintenance, and operational data, addressing nonconformities and resolving shop-floor issues as they arise. Uphold safety standards, CNC operating procedures, and quality expectations across the machine shop, including performing initial inspections on processed items. Collaborate with the maintenance team on CNC equipment troubleshooting, and log machine shop production activity- including variance tracking and corrective measures- in the site's inventory/production system. Handle nightly timekeeping entry and approval for hourly staff. Serve as the foreman's point of contact with CNC programmers to address programming issues and update machine requirements as needed. Oversee shop consumable stock levels and lead corrective-action processes for CNC nonconformance reports, including retraining operators and support staff. Liaise with labor representatives, fostering constructive relations and tracking CNC operator training progress. Requirements High school diploma or GED; further education in engineering, machining, or a related discipline is a plus 1-3 years of supervisory experience within a machine shop Strong verbal and written communication skills suited to a foreman role Solid organizational and project prioritization abilities for managing CNC production schedules Comfortable collaborating within a machine shop team and working with labor agreement guidelines Capable of working autonomously, exercising sound independent judgment over CNC operations Skilled with Microsoft Office for daily communication and documentation Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate a machine shop or CNC production team Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applicable to CNC and machine shop challenges System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
