Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Building Supervisor is to provide oversight of the Recreation and Wellness Center during all scheduled shifts. Building Supervisors are responsible for overall daily operations, enforcing facility and University policies and procedures, enacting the safety protocols when appropriate, overseeing Building Attendants and Lifeguards, and any additional tasks that may be assigned. This position will require effective communication at multiple levels. Building Supervisors are expected to be educated on other campus programs and events that may take place in the facility and/or around campus. This position requires high quality customer service, adaptability and quick thinking skills, and the ability to delegate in a variety of ways.
Average Hours:
10-14 hours/week
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Oversee all facility daily operations, which includes direct supervision of Building Attendants, Lifeguards, and all activities and scheduled programming within the facility. 2. Knowledgeable of all Gannon University and Recreation and Wellness Center policies. Must enforce and apply all policies and procedures during scheduled shift. 3. Demonstrate leadership skills, written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, problem solving, and the ability to work a variety of groups which include with students, University faculty and staff, and all external members. 4. Assist with all accidents, injuries, and incidents in emergency situations while on duty. This position is the main correspondent with Gannon Police and Safety and are responsible for submitting reports as needed. 5. Required to attend all mandatory staff meeting and staff trainings. 6. Be able to effectively and accurately communicate information in person or over the phone regarding facility hours, facility programming, and available amenities. 7. Responsible for Front Desk sales which include: completing memberships, guest passes, miscellaneous sales, locker rentals, and special programming. 8. Ensure money intake is accurate at all times and closing Building Supervisors will be responsible for the nightly deposit. 9. Required to train Building Attendants on all job responsibilities and turn in appropriate training list into Graduate Assistant of Personnel. May be required to assist in Building Attendant and Lifeguard performance evaluations. 10. Be able to report when equipment and supplies are running low or when equipment replacements are needed. 11. Complete mandatory student development and engagement credits per semester. 12. Provide a professional, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all who enter the facility. Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
:
Education:
Enrolled as a full-time student of Gannon University preferably with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.
Experience:
This position is a promotional opportunity from the Building Attendant position. Experience must include use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of standard office equipment such as copy machine, printer, and telephone. Previous customer service, recreation, or fitness experience preferred.

Skills:
Leadership skills including strong verbal and written communication skills, working in a team atmosphere, and professionalism. Individual must be able to work with a diverse population that would include students, faculty, staff, and community members. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision on day to day tasks and be able to take initiative.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Ability to lift and carry weight, possibly up to 50lbs unassisted Ability to walk, stand, and move about for approximately 2-8 hours; without access to a chair Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Ability to climb (stairs/ladders) or balance Ability to walk around building and potentially across campus Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, such as sweeping, vacuuming, and moping Meet the physical demands associated with a busy office and University environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
: Work is performed in a busy campus-wide setting. All facility hours are covered by this position and flexibility is required for hours. Must be a team player and be willing to cover or trade shifts when necessary. Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and campus holiday breaks as necessary.
