The Axel Group is seeking an experienced HVAC Manager to join our client's team. This is a direct-hire, on-site leadership opportunity for a hands-on facilities and mechanical professional who will oversee building maintenance operations, lead a team of skilled technicians, and ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical mechanical and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial HVAC, mechanical systems, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and technician leadership. This individual will play an important role in maintaining the performance and reliability of major building systems, coordinating internal technicians and outside contractors, and identifying opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and overall facility operations. This position is well suited for an experienced Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, Building Engineer, HVAC Manager, or HVAC Service Manager who is looking to take ownership of mechanical maintenance operations while continuing to utilize their technical expertise. Responsibilities Lead and oversee a team of Facilities Maintenance and HVAC Technicians, managing daily schedules, work assignments, service requests, and departmental priorities Direct day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and service activities for building mechanical and HVAC systems Diagnose, service, and maintain major mechanical equipment, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and RTU systems Install, replace, and maintain pumps, pneumatic and electric valves, WSHPs, ERUs, RTUs, and other mechanical equipment Develop, coordinate, and oversee preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify operating inefficiencies, and proactively address potential system failures Monitor building mechanical systems and ensure maintenance needs are identified and addressed in a timely manner Manage mechanical service projects and coordinate repairs with outside contractors, vendors, and service providers Source, order, and maintain necessary parts, materials, and equipment to support ongoing maintenance operations Inspect and follow up on completed work to ensure repairs and maintenance meet quality, safety, and operational standards Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable health and safety regulations, company policies, and established procedures Maintain accurate work orders, service records, time entries, maintenance documentation, and other required system information Conduct technician performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development Train and mentor technicians on equipment operation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, safety, and proper maintenance practices Support the development and continuous improvement of preventative maintenance programs, procedures, and department processes Evaluate department operations and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, service response, equipment reliability, and overall facility performance Act as a technical resource for the maintenance team and provide hands-on support with complex troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs when needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred 6-10+ years of related facilities, mechanical, or commercial HVAC experience Previous experience leading, supervising, training, or mentoring maintenance/HVAC technicians CFC Certification required Strong hands-on experience with boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and RTU systems Strong knowledge of ATC systems, HVAC controls, and energy management software Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial mechanical systems Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices and equipment reliability Ability to coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and service providers Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong commitment to safety, documentation, quality workmanship, and customer service Ability to work in a hands-on leadership capacity while effectively managing a team and department operations

Compensation Salary:
