Job Description Summary Are you interested in advancing your career, leading a team that is passionate about protecting the environment? If so, the role of Buildings, Grounds and Process Maintenance Supervisor at Brightwater is the position for you. As Maintenance Supervisor you will play a critical part in WTD's efforts in protecting the water quality and public health in the central Puget Sound region. In this role you will use your valuable supervisory skills, leading a crew that supports approximately 20 million gallons a day of wastewater treated at Brightwater along with guiding the design and construction for capital projects at the plant. About the Role As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will help carry out and facilitate the day-to-day maintenance tasks at a level 4 regional wastewater treatment plant. The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the Brightwater Treatment Plant buildings and grounds team. The team includes gardeners, utility workers, custodians, and several seasonal helpers. The responsibilities for landscaping are both on site and at nearby pump stations. The utility work includes direct support for Operations which range from routine weekly activities such as safety shower checks or process screen cleaning to membrane repairs and biannual digester cleaning. This role also supports capital project review/implementation, energy and chemical conservation initiatives, and the completion of regulatory tasks and reports. This position will be a key support to Operations and the Mechanical and Instrumentation/Electrical Maintenance supervisor at Brightwater. The successful candidate will become an expert on the plant's facilities, maintenance work and processes. The selected candidate will use maintenance best practices and help convey the requirements to plant leadership, operators, and maintenance teams. About the Team The Brightwater Operations and Maintenance team is a highly collaborative team that prides itself on communications, dedicated staff, and solution-minded work. The O&M facilities are currently aging with major capital improvements expected to start in the next couple of years and continue for a decade. The candidate will be a part of a flexible and dynamic team responsible for providing expertise and support to maintain continuous effective wastewater operations. King County's wastewater operations staff provides the expertise and dedication required to operate and maintain wastewater treatment and collection facilities to ensure protection of the environment and the health of all King County communities. Job Duties Supervise and direct the work of leads, semi-skilled trades, and technical support positions assigned to the maintenance program. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, conducting performance evaluations, training and recommending disciplinary actions. Supervise the review and coordination of preventative and maintenance practices focused on process equipment, buildings and grounds including life cycle analysis of equipment and forecasting short
- and long-term equipment needs, equipment replacement and repairs.

Prior or current wastewater maintenance supervisor experience or 3 years of Facilities or Industrial maintenance lead responsibilities Demonstrable experience with Capital Project teams and other work groups, consultants, or contractors. Experience with CMMS systems and how to utilize extrapolated data in a meaningful way. Practical and progressive experience in an industrial maintenance setting, craft, or trade Managing budgets and Capital project support Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling, coordination and prioritization. Requirement:
Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.Work Schedule:
This full-time position works a 40-hour work week with typically 4-10 hour days or 5 8-hour days. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.Union Representation:
This position is represented by the Teamster, Local 117. Pursuant to the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust $1.00 per hour from the base wage will be submitted to the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust Fund.Application and Selection Process:
