In this role, you will provide quality control functions, assist in coordination of subcontracted activities and assist with training and coaching of maintenance staff. You will be responsible to perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, office buildings, residential areas, grounds and parking lots. You will also perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitary systems and equipment. This position is located at a federal facility. In accordance with the REAL ID Act, effective May 7, 2025, a REAL ID compliant driver's license/ID is required in order to access the federal facility.
Responsibilities:
Respond to service calls, complete COM work and other property maintenance requirements. Provide maintenance of property such as cleaning, painting, interior/exterior decorating and maintenance, lawn maintenance, debris removal, plumbing, electrical work, smoke detector maintenance, repair or replacement of lights, roof, heating/air systems maintenance, appliance repairs, etc. Transport, install and connect stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers and other electrical and gas appliances. On-call emergency repairs and completes repairs as directed by immediate supervisor or other organization management representatives. Load and unload trucks and other conveyances; move supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stack materials for storage or binning; collect refuse and salvageable materials. Transport equipment, furnishings and appliances to job sites. Repair and fabricate window and door screens and frames. Dig, fill and tamp earth excavations; level grounds using pick, shovel, tamper and rake; shovel concrete; clean culverts and ditches; cut tree and brush; operate power tools and lawn mowers. Remove floor tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic floor tile and plywood. Remove damaged drywall. Operate power blowers or use brooms to clean roof tops, sidewalks and driveways of leaves and debris. Ensure work-site clean up. Resolution of any maintenance related issues with residents concerning maintenance department and condition of the home. Elevate issue up to supervisor as needed. Must be able to handle issues of a more sensitive nature requiring a higher level of customer service skills. Perform quality control functions for other team members' work or subcontracted work. May be responsible for duties of Maintenance Technicians, Service Order Coordinator, and other Field Supervisors in their absence or as required. Inspect vehicles and equipment daily assigned to the team. May coordinate and schedule contracted work activities. May be responsible for training and coaching maintenance staff. May be responsible for updating property management database and for pulling reports including open work orders.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. Vocational or Technical training in Maintenance related field. 3 - 5 years work related experience. Must have a valid driver's license and meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy. Basic familiarity with computers. Must demonstrate basic competency in carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades. Associate's degree in field of study. This position is located at a federal facility. Preferred Qualifications:
Associated degree in HVAC, Carpentry or Electrical work
Preferred License/Certification:
