Job Summary Marine Maintenance Manager Position Summary The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance and operations teams to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of company facilities, equipment, and marine assets. This role combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills to oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs, monitoring expenditures to ensure cost-effective operations. and support continuous operational improvement. Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Management o Lead, supervise, and develop maintenance personnel through training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management. o Assign and prioritize work orders to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities. o Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Asset & Equipment Reliability o Develop, implement, and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime. o Ensure maintenance activities are documented accurately and completed in accordance with company standards. o Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and maintenance processes.
  • Maintenance Planning & Records o Develop and maintain maintenance plans using TowWorks or other company maintenance management software.
o Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and work order documentation. o Track and manage critical spare parts inventory to support operational readiness. Budgeting & Procurement monitoring expenditures toensure cost-effective operations. o Oversee inventory levels for maintenance supplies and replacement parts. o Coordinate and manage contractors and third-party vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance o Ensure all maintenance operations comply with applicable
MSHA, U.S.
Coast Guard, OSHA, and company safety regulations and policies. o Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with all environmental and operational standards. Qualifications Required Technical school education or equivalent formal training in mechanical maintenance, industrial maintenance, diesel mechanics, marine engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated experience managing maintenance operations and leading maintenance personnel. Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably TowWorks or similar software. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency. Preferred Maritime industry experience. Previous experience serving as a vessel engineer or marine engineer. Experience maintaining marine equipment, barges, towboats, or other commercial vessels. Working knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard regulations and maritime maintenance standards. Join us in maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability in our fleet!
