Position Purpose:
- Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, plans, directs, and performs all maintenance and repair activities at the Treatment Plant, Pumping Stations, and CSO Facilities. Performs related work as required.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- + Plans, schedules, and directs maintenance activities on a variety of mechanical equipment, buildings, structures, and grounds.
Work Environment:
- + Spends 100% of the time in the operations environment.
Possible Work Hazards :
May be exposed to possible operations hazards including fumes, dust, toxic and caustic chemicals, noise, rotating machinery, high pressure and hot and cold temperatures, slippery surfaces, water and electrical hazards.- Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- + High School Diploma/GED is required. + Steel fabrication and welding experience may be required, if necessary, at site.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- + Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- + Must obtain a Grade II Operators Certificate issued by the State of Rhode Island's Board of Certification of Operators of Wastewater Treatment Facilities within six (6) months of appointment to the position.
Physical Requirements:
- + Amount of time spent - Standing 25%, Walking 75% for as many as five miles per shift.
