HIRING SALARY
$60,840 to $68,515 (Estimated Annual Salary)

Duties and Responsibilities The duties of this position are performed in both an office and field environment, which include but are not limited to: planning/scheduling/monitoring daily maintenance operations in assigned area; establishing job priorities and time frames for activities/tasks; leading/supervising/training assigned crew members to include completing performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions; supervising usage, care, and preventive maintenance of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools; maintaining and ordering materials and supplies; estimating the cost of proposed maintenance projects; ensuring that all administrative paperwork is filled out and submitted in a timely manner; and performing other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification. May be designated to report to work during hazardous weather or emergency conditions Minimum Qualifications Position requires a high school diploma ( or GED ) supplemented by five ( 5 ) years or more of progressively responsible experience in the street/drainage maintenance and repair field with two years at a supervisory level, and/or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the techniques and procedures used in the maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and roadside drainage systems and the ability to adapt/apply this knowledge to resolve issues is required. Knowledge in the use and care of motor graders, excavators, dozers, loader/backhoes, and farm tractors with mowing decks; knowledge in the use and care of chainsaws, pole saws, weed eater, and various other small power tools. The ability to read and understand civil construction design plans; to use a standard transit and laser level with grade rod; to read and set grades; The ability to work in adverse weather conditions and respond to emergency/disaster recovery situations. Must have the following certifications or the ability to obtain them within six (6) months of employment: SC Pesticide Applicators License and Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control inspector ( CEPSCI) . Computer knowledge and experience required. Must have valid SC Driver's License and clean driving record. Must obtain a valid SC Commercial Driver's License ( CDL ) Class A within six (6) months of employment.
