Job Description
Winyah Air is looking to hire a Director of Maintenance for our location in Georgetown, SC. The Director of Maintenance (DOM) will be responsible for the overall management, planning, and execution of all aircraft maintenance activities in compliance with FAA Part 135 and Part 119 regulations. The DOM will ensure the highest levels of safety, airworthiness, and reliability of company aircraft while providing leadership to the maintenance department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the FAA-required Part 119 Director of Maintenance for our Part 135 certificate. Manage, supervise, and direct all aircraft maintenance, inspection, and repair activities. Ensure full compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and company policies. Develop and oversee maintenance programs, procedures, and recordkeeping systems. Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot to ensure safe and efficient flight operations. Manage vendor relationships, including MROs, parts suppliers, and contract maintenance providers. Oversee maintenance personnel training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Establish and manage maintenance budgets, cost control, and resource allocation. Act as the primary point of contact with the FAA regarding maintenance matters. Maintain a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Minor Travel may be required Recruiting, selection and training of workforce Maintain compliance with current FAA Regulations, Inspection/Compliance Standards, company policies and procedures Specific duties for the Director of Maintenance as required in Company's FAA approved Operations Manual and applicable FARs Provide for employee incentives, recognition for awards and administer discipline or recommend termination based on conditions of employment or Company policy All other duties as assigned by the General ManagerEDUCATION REQUIRED
High school or equivalentPREFERRED B.A./B.S.
in Aviation Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with the PilatusPC-12/45
Possess a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airman's Certificate. Possess a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Medical Certificate.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Ability to meet all FAA requirements and approval for the Director of Maintenance Designation. Ten (10) plus years' experience in aviation maintenance supervisor positions. At least 10 current years' experience in commercial aviation maintenance leadership. Possess a valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe & Power plant (A&P) Certificate. Inspection Authorization (IA) license preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years' experience maintaining turboprop aircraft Demonstrated leadership and facilitation skills Proven background of engaging and motivating employees at all levels to maintain a cohesive team and high employee retentionQUALIFICATIONS FAA
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required. IA (Inspection Authorization) preferred. Thorough knowledge of FAA Part 119 and Part 135 regulations. Strong leadership and organizational skills with proven supervisory experience. Experience with light and mid-size turbine aircraft is preferred. Experience with piston aircraft is preferred. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-critical environment with high attention to detail.
