Job Description
Job Responsibilities Directs, plans and schedules the activities of the maintenance and grounds departments. Interviews and selects personnel; oversees training of new and existing staff. Assigns jobs to maintenance and grounds staff according to priority and ability and ensures adequate equipment and supplies are available for assigned tasks. Communicates expectations to maintenance and grounds staff and inspects work to ensure employees follow proper operating, maintenance and safety procedures. Ensures adequate equipment and supplies are available for assigned tasks. Perform periodic inspections of various components of all college facilities and equipment (including vehicles) to ensure proper upkeep and maintenance. Schedules and maintains records of preventative maintenance. Monitors and fulfills maintenance work order requests. Consults with College managers and directors to ensure all maintenance needs are being met as planned. Performs complex installations, maintenance, and repair on electrical, HVAC units, and other maintenance repairs to the interior and exterior of buildings. Selects and purchases (or requisitions) supplies and equipment needed for the maintenance department and special renovation projects. Monitor and approve employee leave and timesheets as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment.
