Assistant Manager, Industrial Maintenance Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Industrial Maintenance is a full-time, exempt position responsible for leading industrial mechanical and facilities maintenance projects and personnel. The employee will manage projects from customer inquiry through completion, including estimating, bidding, scheduling, resource allocation, quality assurance, and customer communication. This position will work alongside crew members, provide strong and proactive leadership, and ensure safe work practices are followed. Hours may vary due to customer schedules and workload and will include two weekends per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform and supervise Industrial Facilities Maintenance duties and tasks. Manage industrial projects from initial customer contact through completion and closeout. Establish Industrial Facilities Maintenance service strategies and support business growth. Meet with customers to review projects and gather information for estimates and bids. Prepare job scopes, pricing information, bids, proposals, and project schedules. Work alongside crews and provide hands-on mechanical direction and troubleshooting. Organize and effectively delegate job tasks and scheduling of team members and projects. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks and instructions are understood. Manage and control the allocation of staff, equipment, materials, tools, and consumables. Monitor labor, materials, job costs, schedules, scope changes, and project documentation. Inspect completed work to ensure acceptable quality and timely completion. Maintain the security, safety compliance, readiness, and condition of assigned buildings, equipment, tools, and vehicles. Assist with recruitment, training, performance management, discipline, and other personnel decisions. Resolve conflicts, manage employee concerns, and process time-off requests and time records. Train employees and enforce company safety rules, regulations, and customer-site procedures. Communicate personnel, equipment, supply, scheduling, project, and customer needs to upper management. All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
3+ years experience working in Industrial Maintenance. 3+ years experience Supervising subordinates. Valid Driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record. High School Diploma. Industrial mechanical skills and related maintenance experience. Strong, proactive leadership and supervisory skills. Ability to manage projects, prepare estimates and bids, and communicate with customers. Ability to work two weekends per month and a variable schedule based on business needs. Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or willingness and ability to obtain one as required by the company. Ability to communicate and read labels in English. (Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus) Ability to physically stand, bend, squat and lift/move heavy loads. Provide own tools per company's tool policy.

Include the project value, scope of work, crew size, estimated and actual labor hours, equipment and materials required, schedule, customer communication, problems encountered, and final financial or operational result. Every question must be answered completely. Do you have at least three years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience? If yes, identify each employer, your position, dates of employment, the type of facility, and the industrial equipment or systems you maintained. General building maintenance, residential construction, or grounds maintenance should not be counted as industrial maintenance experience. Do you have at least three years of experience directly supervising employees? If yes, identify each supervisory position, the number and types of employees you supervised, your scheduling responsibilities, and whether you had authority to train, evaluate, discipline, or recommend termination of employees. This position requires working weekends and maintaining a variable schedule based on customer and operational needs. Describe any limitations on your availability, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, extended shifts, or schedule changes. Do you currently possess a valid driver's license and have a driving record that would reasonably qualify under an employer's commercial auto insurance requirements? Do you currently possess a Commercial Driver's License? If yes, list the state, class, and endorsements. If no, explain whether you are willing and able to obtain the CDL class and endorsements required by the company within the assigned timeframe.
