Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Staff member to ensure the optimal operation and upkeep of our facilities. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a variety of building systems and equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for all occupants. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facilities maintenance skills in a fast-paced setting that values teamwork and problem-solving. Duties Conduct regular inspections of building interior systems, including HVAC units, plumbing, electrical equipment, and facilities infrastructure to identify potential issues early. Perform maintenance painting, carpentry, welding, and other repair tasks to uphold the building's appearance and structural integrity. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems using schematics, electrical work tools such as ohmmeters, and electrical equipment repair techniques. Maintain HVAC systems through routine servicing, repairs, and system upgrades to ensure optimal climate control. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics to diagnose complex mechanical or electrical problems efficiently. Operate hand tools and power tools safely to complete maintenance tasks with precision. Supervise or assist with maintenance projects involving plumbing system repairs, building interior maintenance, or facilities equipment upkeep while adhering to safety standards. Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule preventive maintenance activities. Lead or support team efforts in maintenance repair operations (MRO), ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining high safety standards. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities equipment maintenance and repair. Proficiency in electrical work including troubleshooting electrical circuits and repairing electrical equipment. Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair techniques. Knowledge of HVAC systems including repair, troubleshooting, and system upgrades. Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams for complex systems such as PLCs or HVAC controls. Skilled in welding, carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and general handyman tasks. Familiarity with maintenance painting techniques for building interiors and exteriors. Experience with CMMS software for work order management and documentation. Effective leadership skills with supervisory experience in a maintenance environment. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and facility users in a professional manner. Electrical experience complemented by the use of tools like ohmmeters for diagnostics. Knowledge of plumbing codes, safety standards, and best practices for plumbing system repair.
