Job Description
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a contract opportunity with our client in Spring Hill, Tennessee . Overview The main function of a maintenance supervisor is to establish, implement, and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities and provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported. The role requires overseeing safety, personnel, and equipment to support manufacturing initiatives and ensure operational efficiency. Responsibilities Implement and actively support corporate safety policies, initiatives, and plant housekeeping standards. Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and initiate immediate and long-term corrections. Support plant in achieving safety, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost goals. Supervise construction and maintenance projects. Assist in the implementation of divisional and corporate policies. Maintain schedules and quality requirements. Implement safety and good housekeeping standards. Train, develop, and evaluate employees. Comply with terms of local and national labor agreements and support divisional and corporate policies. Initiate contact with internal and external teams when required to solve problems. Implement planned maintenance activities. Complete work assignments within budget, manpower, and timing constraints. Analyze and respond promptly to manufacturing daily plans, making necessary adjustments to operations as required. Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations when necessary. Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions. Maintain productivity and quality standards. Establish a course of action to accomplish tasks and projects. Work in a loud manufacturing environment that may be hot or cold, including bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting up to 40 lbs., and standing for prolonged periods. Qualifications Associate degree in engineering or related technical field preferred 10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing or related industry Experience reading and understanding electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email communication tools Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed Preferred Qualifications Strong critical thinking and analytical skills Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and work independently Experience collaborating across multiple functions in a manufacturing setting The shift for this role includes first, second, and third shifts (6 am
- 2:30 pm, 4 pm
- 12:30 am, 10 pm
- 6:30 am), and the candidate will need to be flexible to work all three shifts.
