General Assembly Maintenance Group Leader Automotive Manufacturing | Union Skilled Trades Supervision A leading automotive manufacturing facility is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Group Leader to supervise electrical and mechanical skilled trades within a high-volume General Assembly environment. This is a leadership role for someone who understands automotive production, can manage union skilled trades employees, and thrives in a fast-paced plant setting where safety, uptime, and quality matter. What You'll Do Directly supervise electrical and mechanical skilled trades in General Assembly Lead daily troubleshooting and repair of complex manufacturing equipment Enforce and apply National and Local UAW Agreements Drive accountability, performance, and safety across your team Coordinate preventative maintenance and rapid response to equipment downtime Support robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing systems Manage labor utilization, inventory, and equipment efficiency Make real-time decisions to support production schedules What We're Looking For Automotive manufacturing experience Proven maintenance supervision experience Experience managing union employees (UAW preferred) Strong ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic blueprints Experience troubleshooting complex automated equipment Ability to handle performance management and difficult conversations Comfortable working rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed Preferred Background Experience with robotics and automation systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience leading in a fast-paced production environment Knowledge of timekeeping systems Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment and requires physical mobility, including walking, standing, climbing, lifting, and wearing PPE. If you have experience supervising skilled trades in an automotive union environment and enjoy leading teams that keep production moving, this is a strong opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role.
Pay:
$78,200.00 - $95,600.00 per year
