Schedules and assigns preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work.
Inspects completed work to ensure it is safe, accurate, and meets required standards.
Coordinates projects with other supervisors and departments to make the best use of staff, materials, and equipment.
Estimates the labor, materials, supplies, and equipment needed for each project.
Submits requests for materials and supplies.
Maintains accurate records and prepares reports on maintenance and repair work.
Trains and supervises inmate workers assigned to maintenance and construction projects.
Ensures all work follows electrical codes, safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
Helps maintain the security and accountability of assigned inmates.
Reads and interprets electrical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
Operates tools, machinery, and equipment related to the assigned work.
Performs other duties as assigned.

You have a high school diploma or GED.You have at least two years of paid electrician experience in maintenance, construction, or an industrial setting.
You understand electrical systems, equipment, and basic mechanical operations.
You are familiar with current electrical codes, safety rules, and regulations.

You can organize projects, estimate needed resources, and meet deadlines.
You communicate instructions clearly and maintain accurate records.
You can work independently with minimal supervision.
You can maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure.

You completed an applicable trade, technical, or military electrical training program and have related work experience.
You have experience leading electrical, maintenance, or construction crews.
You have experience training and supervising inmate workers.

You understand TDCJ¿s organizational structure, policies, procedures, and security requirements.
