Responsibilities also include estimating projects by determining necessary labor, materials, supplies, and resources; ordering materials and maintaining accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and reports. The position trains and supervises inmate workers assisting with maintenance and construction while ensuring adherence to safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulations. Additionally, the role supports the safe supervision of assigned inmates during work activities.
Technical responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting laundry and food¿service equipment, as well as other machinery and systems related to the assigned area. The job requires using test equipment, tools, and instruments to diagnose and repair issues; reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical systems, including steam and refrigeration systems used in institutional settings. Strong problem¿solving skills are essential for identifying equipment issues and determining appropriate repairs. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

You have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of full¿time experience in industrial laundry equipment, food¿service equipment, electrical maintenance, or mechanical facilities maintenance. You may also qualify with trade or technical school training plus one year of related experience, or with U.S. military technical training plus one year of related experience. You bring experience working with or repairing commercial and industrial equipment, along with some background supervising employees or work crews. You communicate well, can organize and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks, and maintain accurate records and reports. Your troubleshooting abilities and commitment to following and enforcing policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations further demonstrate your strong fit for this position.
