Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Hotel Chief Engineer to lead our facilities maintenance and engineering operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and industrial systems within the hotel. Your leadership will ensure that all engineering functions adhere to safety regulations, operational standards, and quality expectations. You will coordinate maintenance repair procedures, supervise facilities maintenance teams, and implement project management strategies to enhance the hotel's infrastructure. Duties Lead and supervise facilities maintenance team to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance of mechanical systems, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and other building infrastructure. Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance management programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, asset history, and maintenance schedules. Oversee the repair and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems using schematics, technical manuals, and engineering troubleshooting techniques. Manage high voltage electrical systems safely by conducting inspections with voltmeters and ohmmeters while adhering to OSHA safety regulations. Coordinate projects related to facilities upgrades or renovations by managing timelines, budgets, contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Conduct routine inspections of HVAC systems repair, plumbing system maintenance, electrical wiring, high voltage equipment, and low voltage controls to ensure optimal performance. Enforce safety regulations across all engineering activities by conducting safety training sessions and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system performance using CMMS software. Collaborate with hotel management to plan for emergency repairs or system upgrades that minimize guest disruption while maximizing operational efficiency. Lead efforts in managing facilities maintenance teams through effective team management practices emphasizing leadership skills in supervising staff and managing facilities maintenance procedures. Experience Proven management experience in a hospitality or large commercial facility environment with a focus on facilities management or engineering supervision. Extensive mechanical knowledge including HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance and repair, electrical systems troubleshooting (high voltage and low voltage), and industrial maintenance procedures. Strong project management skills with experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously from planning through execution. Familiarity with CMMS platforms for tracking work orders and maintaining asset records efficiently. Knowledge of safety regulations such as OSHA standards related to electrical systems, high voltage safety practices, mechanical systems repair procedures, and general facilities management protocols. Proficiency in reading schematics for electrical wiring diagrams or mechanical layouts; ability to use testing tools like voltmeters and ohmmeters accurately. Supervising experience leading facilities maintenance team with an emphasis on team management skills that foster collaboration and accountability. Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and coordination with internal teams or external contractors. Other tasks as required.
