Position range in Central Texas $3,371.00
Two years experience as a supervisor or team leader, which may include oversight of paid staff, volunteers, or alternate workforce.
Must possess or be able to obtain, within one year of employment, Class "D" Water and Wastewater licenses issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).Must possess or be able to obtain, within three years of employment, Class "C" Ground Water license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).Must possess or be able to obtain, with 6 months of employment, a Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicator License issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Experience in customer service and/or public relations.
Knowledge of natural and cultural resource conservation and management principles.
Knowledge of general custodial duties.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
Skilled in maintaining and performing minor repairs to vehicles and other equipment.
Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers and work-related contacts.

Skilled in initiating, monitoring, implementing and completing technical and complex minor repair projects or construction projects within specified deadlines.

Required to operate a state vehicle.
Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
Required to perform manual labor including lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.

Under the direction of the Park Superintendent, this position performs highly complex (senior-level) supervisory maintenance and construction work. Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds, utilities and equipment within the Colorado Bend State Park, including all associated administrative duties as related to the maintenance functions. Supervises, trains and provides leadership to classified, hourly, and volunteer staff. Performs preventative maintenance (cleaning/inspecting) of facilities and grounds. Duties include mowing, trimming, garbage collection, cleaning restrooms, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs, vehicle maintenance, patrolling and park rules enforcement. Operates and maintains various types of equipment including hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors and trucks. Assists in purchasing supplies and materials, special events and revenue collection and accounting. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from High School or GED.Experience:
Four years of facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience.Two years experience as a supervisor or team leader, which may include oversight of paid staff, volunteers, or alternate workforce.
