$29.00 - $39.00/hr (based on experience) Wikota is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to lead fabrication operations in Brookshire, TX. This role supervises welders and fabricators, drives production goals, upholds quality standards in coordination with QC, and maintains a safe, productive shop environment. The ideal candidate has strong structural steel fabrication experience, leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of welding procedures, fabrication processes, and industry codes.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Development Supervise, train, mentor, and support welders and fabricators; assign daily work and utilize labor effectively. Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement; provide performance feedback as needed. Production & Operations Coordinate shop activities per standard written shop procedures to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Monitor workflow and output; identify and resolve bottlenecks; optimize material usage and minimize waste. Quality Assurance Work with the QC department to verify work meets project specs, blueprints, and
AWS/ASME
standards; ensure corrective actions when issues arise. Safety & Compliance Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment; enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements; conduct safety meetings. Technical Support Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and welding symbols; assist with complex fitting/welding challenges; serve as technical resource for the shop. Equipment & Material Management Oversee receipt and tracking of new materials, inventory of materials/consumables/supplies, and tracking of items shipped from the shop; coordinate equipment maintenance; communicate needs to management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Minimum 5 years welding/fabrication experience in a shop environment and 2 years supervisory/leadership experience. Strong knowledge of MIG, Flux Core, Stick, and TIG processes; ability to read blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols. Working knowledge of AWS standards and fabrication best practices; strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and fabrication environment. Preferred AWS CWI, CWS, or similar certification; experience in structural steel, pipe fabrication, and heavy industrial projects. Familiarity with ERP systems, production tracking software, and Microsoft Office.
