SERVICE WRITER / SHOP MANAGERAAA
State Inspection & Automotive High-Volume Automotive Repair Facility | Salary + Monthly Commission AAA State Inspection & Automotive is looking for an experienced, motivated Service Writer / Shop Manager to join our team at a busy, high-workflow automotive repair facility . This position is ideal for someone who understands automotive repair, can communicate confidently with customers, and can manage multiple repair orders and technicians while keeping the shop moving efficiently.
COMPENSATION

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet customers and provide professional, knowledgeable customer service Accurately enter and maintain customer and vehicle information in our shop management system Build, manage, and update repair orders Recommend and sell automotive repairs and maintenance services Explain inspection findings, recommended repairs, costs, and priorities to customers Obtain customer authorization for repairs Order automotive parts and coordinate parts availability Communicate with technicians regarding vehicle concerns, diagnostics, repair procedures, and job status Manage and coordinate technicians to keep vehicles moving through the shop efficiently Monitor repair progress and ensure jobs are completed in a timely manner Review completed work and ensure repairs meet shop and customer expectations Keep customers informed regarding repair status, additional findings, delays, and completion times Help prioritize the day's workload and manage multiple vehicles simultaneously Assist with maintaining an organized, efficient, and professional shop environment Help maximize shop productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability
TEKMETRIC EXPERIENCE
HIGHLY PREFERRED
Experience using Tekmetric is highly recommended and preferred . Our shop uses Tekmetric extensively for: Creating and managing repair orders Entering customer and vehicle information Writing estimates and invoices Managing technician assignments Ordering and tracking parts Updating job status Communicating repair information Managing overall workflow Candidates who already have experience with Tekmetric will have a significant advantage.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for someone who: Has previous automotive service-writing, management, or shop leadership experience Has strong automotive knowledge and understands vehicle repair Is comfortable recommending and selling repairs Can confidently communicate with customers Can effectively manage technicians and shop workflow Is organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Understands the importance of completing repairs correctly and on time Takes ownership of customer satisfaction and shop performance Is dependable, professional, and motivated to earn through performance Has experience with Tekmetric or similar automotive shop management software
WHAT WE EXPECT
This is not a slow-paced service advisor position . Our location experiences a high volume of customers and repair work. The successful candidate must be able to stay organized, make decisions, communicate effectively, and keep the entire operation moving. The Service Writer / Shop Manager will play a key role in connecting customers, technicians, parts suppliers, and management to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and correctly.
