Job Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with global operations in 6 countries and serves customers in almost 60 countries. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington (USA), Trident employs approximately 7,700 people worldwide each year and partners with over 2,700 independent fishermen and crewmembers in Alaska. Trident catches and processes virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also encompasses cultured and wild species sourced from an international network of trusted suppliers.
Summary:
The Maintenance Lead directs and coordinates activities of vendors and Maintenance Mechanics engaged in repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools, and equipment. In addition, the Maintenance Lead also assists with the maintenance of the buildings, grounds and utility systems of the plant. The Maintenance Lead will report up to the Shift Maintenance Supervisor and assist in the strategic needs of the department.
Essential Functions:
Manages maintenance work requests from production floor by determining priority and assigning work orders to technicians. Verifies completion of assigned work orders by technicians Enforces departmental use of Lock Out Tag Out as defined by the company policy. Ensures team members comply with all safety and good manufacturing practices. Communicates to Production and Quality Assurance departments equipment breakdowns and estimated times for repair completion. Works with management, vendor, engineering and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance issues and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment. Audits work of team members to ensure that standards are being met. Conducts daily meetings at the end of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on status of breakdowns, repairs and troubleshooting completed during previous shift. Maintains shop cleanliness, including the office and outside staging area. Communicates daily shift pass down report via designated email distribution. Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts regularly to remove defective parts. Lubricates and cleans parts, equipment, and machinery. Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications. Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Communicates to Supervisor parts needs. Repairs electrical equipment. Represents the Maintenance department as needed for cross functional meetings. Ensures shift is meeting department KPIs and CMMS compliance. Follows up on Downtime items and aids in root cause analysis. Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions. Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings. All other duties as assigned. Verify PMs are Completed accurately. Trident Seafoods offers a comprehensive and quality benefits package. Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years of Maintenance Mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment. One year certificate from a college or technical school or equivalent experience. Ability to operate a variety of hand tools including welding machines, cutting torches, pipe/tube cutters, power drills/saws, calipers. Prior work with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Experience with interpreting a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Preferred Education & Experiences:
Previous experience in a food processing environment. Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. PLC troubleshooting experience. VFD programing experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Strong communication skills and ability to problem solve and troubleshoot diverse breakdowns. Demonstrated knowledge in various software programs such as Microsoft applications and experience with a CMMS program. Ability to operate a variety of hand tools to include welding machines, cutting torches and power tools. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
