Shop Foreman / Lead Restoration & Performance Technician Snake Eater Performance - Comfort, Texas Full-Time | $28-$35/hour | Hourly, Non-Flag Position Snake Eater Performance is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman / Lead Technician to help lead the day-to-day technical operations of our growing restoration and performance shop. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can work directly with ownership to keep projects moving, provide technical direction to other technicians, maintain quality standards, and bring organization and accountability to the shop floor. The right person will still work on vehicles, particularly when advanced diagnostics or technical experience are needed, but their success will also be measured by how well the entire shop performs. Our work includes classic American vehicles, hot rods, restomods, engine and drivetrain swaps, EFI conversions, fuel systems, electrical diagnostics and wiring, air conditioning, suspension and brake upgrades, fabrication, and complete vehicle builds. One of the best parts of this job is the variety. One day may involve diagnosing a high-horsepower modern drivetrain swap and the next may involve bringing a largely original American classic back to life. We work on everything from serious performance builds to old cruisers, and very few days look exactly the same. For someone who genuinely enjoys cars and wants to keep learning, this shop offers exposure to an unusually broad range of American automotive engineering. You will work with old and new technology, carburetors and EFI, original electrical systems and complete aftermarket harnesses, traditional drivetrains and modern engine swaps, factory engineering and custom fabrication. If you are tired of repairing the same systems on the same generation of vehicles every day, this is a very different kind of shop. What You'll Do Coordinate daily work and priorities with ownership Provide technical direction and support to technicians Keep technicians working within approved project scopes and expected labor hours Recognize legitimate discovery and additional work, document it clearly, and communicate it before the shop proceeds beyond the authorized scope Review difficult diagnostic and technical problems Perform advanced mechanical and diagnostic work when necessary Inspect completed work and maintain shop quality standards Help prevent comebacks through proper testing, quality control, and final verification Mentor developing technicians without doing their work for them Maintain clear communication between technicians, service/parts, and ownership Help establish repeatable procedures and improve shop efficiency Keep projects moving rather than allowing vehicles to stall in bays Take responsibility for the overall quality and professionalism of the shop floor What We're Looking For We need someone with broad automotive ability rather than expertise in only one area. Strong candidates should be comfortable with several of the following: Classic American vehicles and restoration work Engine and drivetrain installation EFI and aftermarket engine management Electrical diagnosis and wiring Fuel systems Air conditioning and HVAC Suspension, steering, and brake systems Performance modifications Fabrication and custom installation Systematic diagnostic procedures Reading wiring diagrams and technical documentation Experience with

Compensation Pay range:

$28-$35/hour , based on demonstrated technical capability, leadership experience, judgment, and productivity. This is an hourly position, not traditional flat-rate or flag time. We believe quality work, proper diagnostics, teamwork, mentoring, and thorough final verification should not be sacrificed to chase flagged hours. We still expect strong productivity, accurate time tracking, and accountability for the work being performed. We are willing to pay at the upper end of the range for someone who can genuinely lead production, diagnose difficult problems, improve the technicians around them, and take meaningful responsibility for shop-floor execution.
