What We're Looking For 3-5+ years of automotive dealership service management experience MUST have MOPAR / Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership service experience Strong understanding of
CDJR/MOPAR
service operations, warranty processes, and manufacturer requirements Strong technical and mechanical knowledge Previous experience as a Service Manager, Assistant Service Manager, Service Director, Shop Foreman, or similar dealership leadership role Proven ability to lead, coach, train, and hold technicians and advisors accountable Strong understanding of RO flow, dispatch, technician productivity, labor hours, efficiency, CSI, gross profit, and department expenses Ability to identify problems quickly and make decisions without constant oversight Strong communication skills with technicians, advisors, parts personnel, customers, and dealership leadership Experience working with dealership DMS and service scheduling/dispatch systems Professional, organized, and level-headed under pressure This Role Is About More Than Managing a Schedule We need a leader who is willing to be involved in the day-to-day operation of the shop. You will be responsible for making sure the department has the right processes, the right people, and the accountability necessary to produce consistent results.
The right candidate will:
Keep the shop moving and control daily RO flow Monitor and improve technician productivity and efficiency Manage dispatch and make sure work is distributed properly Coach advisors on write-up quality, communication, follow-up, and closing repair opportunities Work closely with the Parts Department to reduce downtime Review open ROs and identify bottlenecks before they become customer problems Handle customer escalations professionally and effectively Monitor CSI and develop action plans when performance falls short Train and develop employees rather than simply replacing them Hold employees accountable to dealership and manufacturer standards Conduct regular department meetings and one-on-one coaching Monitor service department revenue, gross profit, expenses, and overall performance Ensure warranty and manufacturer requirements are followed Work with dealership leadership to improve fixed operations performance Build a culture based on quality, accountability, teamwork, and consistency Leadership Expectations We are not looking for someone who simply watches the numbers from an office. We want a hands-on Service Manager who knows how to walk into a shop, understand what is happening, identify the problem, and help the team fix it. You should be comfortable having difficult conversations, setting expectations, coaching employees, and holding people accountable when standards aren't being met.
