Responsibilities Lead and motivate the service team to achieve high standards in equipment repairs, diagnostics, and customer satisfaction. Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and quality control. Ensure accurate vehicle assessments using equipment diagnostics and estimating software; prepare detailed repair estimates. Manage service writing, upselling additional services such as transmissions, brake repair, suspension work, tire service, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brake systems, and other mechanical repairs. Maintain strong client communication by explaining repair needs clearly and providing excellent customer service throughout the service process. Supervise inventory levels for parts and supplies; coordinate with vendors to ensure timely availability of necessary components. Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure compliance with all safety and operational policies. Drive dealership sales initiatives by promoting value-added services and upselling opportunities to enhance revenue streams. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations; uphold high standards of equipment repair quality. Use computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to accurately document repairs and facilitate insurance claims when necessary. Qualifications Proven experience in equipment service management or dealership environment with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair. Hands-on mechanic experience with knowledge of transmissions, brake systems, suspension components, tire services, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brakes, and collision repair. Familiarity with estimating software and auto estimating procedures; ability to write detailed service reports (service writing). Demonstrated ability in upselling additional services while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client communication and relationship building. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with experience as a service technician or mechanic is highly desirable. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed. Effective leadership skills to manage staff efficiently while fostering a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of equipment repair standards including oil change procedures, transmission work, suspension repairs, tire services, brake system repairs, and collision damage assessments.
