$100,000-$120,000 annual base salary, depending on experience About the Role Environmental Allies is hiring a Shop Manager to lead five mechanics maintaining heavy construction equipment, DOT commercial trucks, and light-duty trucks. We need an organized leader who keeps repairs moving, sets realistic completion dates, and gives operations dependable answers about when equipment will be ready. You will work alongside an experienced senior mechanic who leads difficult troubleshooting while you manage the shop workload, productivity, costs, and follow-through. What You Will Do Assign work, set priorities, coach mechanics, and hold the team accountable for progress and repair quality. Establish repair scope, estimated labor hours, parts needs, and return-to-service dates. Track actual progress against estimates, resolve delays, and communicate changes before deadlines are missed. Keep operations and field supervisors informed about equipment availability and repair schedules. Manage preventive maintenance, DOT inspection scheduling, and corrective repairs. Keep Fleetio work orders, service histories, labor entries, parts, and maintenance costs accurate. Coordinate parts purchasing, inventory, outside repairs, and vendor performance. Maintain a safe, organized shop. Application Note Please include the size of the teams you have managed and the types of equipment and trucks your shops maintained. Required Qualifications At least 10 years of heavy-equipment and fleet-maintenance experience. At least five years supervising mechanics or managing a maintenance shop. Strong knowledge of construction equipment, commercial trucks, and light-duty trucks, with the judgment to evaluate repair plans and challenge unrealistic timeframes. A record of organizing a busy shop, meeting commitments, and holding people accountable. Strong communication, computer, and recordkeeping skills. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Fifteen or more years of heavy-equipment and fleet-maintenance experience. Previous Fleetio experience. Experience supporting a civil-construction or earthwork fleet.
