The Service Manager is responsible for leading daily service operations while supporting an outstanding guest experience, a productive repair shop, and a positive team environment. This position serves as the primary connection between guests, Service Advisors, technicians, and store leadership. The Service Manager ensures that repair orders move efficiently from the initial inspection through final delivery while maintaining high standards for communication, workmanship, documentation, profitability, and ethical service. This role is ideal for an experienced Service Manager who understands automotive repair operations, knows how to develop a high-performing team, and can balance exceptional guest care with strong operational results. Previous technician experience is a plus. Duties and Responsibilities Lead daily service operations and promote a positive, professional, and results-focused work environment. Deliver an outstanding guest experience by following our client-first philosophy: take care of the guest first and the vehicle second. Coach, support, and hold Service Advisors and technicians accountable for performance, communication, teamwork, and established company standards. Coordinate workflow between the front office and repair shop to help ensure vehicles are diagnosed, approved, repaired, and delivered correctly and on schedule. Review technicians' Digital Vehicle Inspections and support the preparation of accurate estimates for recommended maintenance and repairs. Ensure guests receive clear explanations of inspection findings, repair recommendations, priorities, costs, and expected completion timelines. Monitor repair-order volume, technician productivity, parts availability, work-in-progress, sales activity, and shop performance. Help resolve operational challenges, guest concerns, scheduling conflicts, parts delays, and changes in repair scope. Ensure parts are sourced from approved vendors based on quality, availability, pricing, and warranty coverage. Confirm that repair orders contain complete and accurate documentation using the Concern, Cause, and Correction format. Ensure guests receive timely updates throughout the repair process and that phone calls, emails, text messages, voicemails, and other sales-related activity receive prompt responses. Build lasting guest relationships through honest recommendations, consistent communication, and exceptional follow-through. Train, mentor, and develop team members while identifying opportunities to improve performance and advance their careers. Support recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing development of service-team employees. Maintain high standards for the cleanliness, organization, safety, and professional appearance of the lobby, offices, restrooms, exterior areas, and repair shop. Partner with the General Manager to achieve location goals while protecting the company's values, reputation, and commitment to ethical service. Qualifications At least five years of automotive service advising, service management, or equivalent automotive sales experience . Previous leadership or team-management experience. Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and shop operations. Previous automotive technician experience is preferred but not required. Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage workflow, priorities, guest expectations, and team performance in a fast-paced environment.
