Qualifications:
College hours, high school diploma or GED (preferred) Texas Operator's License Minimum of five years' experience in maintenance trade Knowledge of MEP systems Experience in planning work methods and schedules Experience in supervision Ability to interpret plans, shop drawings and specifications Physically able to lift 50 pounds Ability to comprehend verbal and written
English Primary Purpose:
Assist the Area Supervisor in the daily activities of the assigned staff, provide leadership for the team in the supervisor's absence. Maintain the facilities in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use is available at all times.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Knowledge of all types of maintenance work and MEP equipment. Maintain and repair facilities in the assigned area. Assist the supervisor in projects and coordination with contractors and district staff. Establish feasibility of projects before repairing or modifications by reviewing plans and specifications and inspecting job sites. Coordinate daily work with maintenance and campus staff. Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written. Utilize the department software programs in daily operations. Emphasize the importance of safety and perform safety training to all. Is available on short notice for emergency or overtime work. Perform quality control on work accomplished within his/her section. Attend professional training/continuing education classes as requested. Perform other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Lightweight truck, van, tractor, lift and various maintenance tools, computer, smart phone, tablet, ability to pull trailers and operate specialized maintenance equipment.
Working Conditions:
