Director of Maintenance New Braunfels Christian Academy https://www.nbcatx.org/page/careers to review the full job description, position success profile, and the Maintenance Director Application. Provides leadership and oversight for the maintenance, repair, safety, and long-term stewardship of all school facilities, grounds, and campus infrastructure. Responsible for planning and directing preventative maintenance programs, managing facility improvement projects, coordinating vendors and contractors, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a safe, functional, and welcoming environment that supports the school's educational mission and daily operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Direct workers engaged in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
  • Direct workers engaged in ground maintenance activities, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
  • Direct workers engaged in the general cleaning and upkeep of buildings, including buffing, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing windows.
  • Directs workers assisting other departments as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Collaborates with the NBCA leadership team, faculty, and families to enhance and support the mission.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises maintenance staff on both campuses. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with NBCA's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending for hire, and training employees in conjunction with the Director of Operations; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
