The Maintenance Lead will manage the daily maintenance departmental activities and support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our plastic extrusion equipment and related manufacturing systems. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoots equipment failures, coordinates maintenance priorities, and provides hands-on guidance to maintenance technicians. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, direct experience with plastics extrusion machinery, and the ability to lead maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities, work assignments, and equipment repairs. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plastics extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment. Meet ISO Quality and Food Safety requirements. Must have a sense of priority combined with the ability to take the initiative and manage multiple tasks. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to established schedules. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls-related equipment issues. Support the maintenance of extruders, gearboxes, motors, drives, heaters, temperature controllers, cooling systems, conveyors, grinders, material-handling systems, and downstream equipment. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance requests. Identify the root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and improvement projects. Assist management in identifying and solving safety concerns. Oversee the maintenance of the equipment and the facility to ensure the company receives maximum utilization of its assets. Ensure that systems are in place and followed to maintain the reliability of equipment and processes. Monitor the condition of equipment and recommend repairs or replacement parts. Maintain accurate records of completed work, equipment history, parts usage, and preventive maintenance activities. Coordinate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance while minimizing downtime. Train, develop, coach, evaluate, and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and production employees. Maintain an organized inventory of tools, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies. Ensure all work complies with company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable regulations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment w/direct experience in maintaining and troubleshooting plastics extrusion equipment is required. Technical certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical technology, or a related field is preferred. Previous lead, supervisory, or team-coordination experience. Bi-Lingual Spanish/English is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and technical documentation. Experience troubleshooting motors, variable-frequency drives, sensors, heating systems, and temperature controls. Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems is preferred. Basic welding, machining, fabrication, or PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, management, and outside vendors. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond effectively to urgent equipment issues.

Pay:

$31.00 - $33.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 45.0 per week
