POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for prioritizing and planning maintenance tasks to optimize technician effectiveness and equipment efficiency. This position is also responsible for managing the preventive maintenance program, inclusive of task creation and scheduling, completion follow up, parts availability and program continuous improvement, all of which is done though the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Management of the unplanned work order process is also part of the scope of this job. Additionally, the Maintenance Planner is working with maintenance leaders to develop and oversee processes to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance. The person in this position plays a key role in championing plant maintenance initiatives. The maintenance planner focuses on the management of the CMMS and associated tasks and excludes the supervision of the maintenance technicians. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level, inclusive of planned maintenance performed by vendors and contractors. Review and validate all completed work orders for accuracy and to ensure the work done meets expectations. Estimate labor hours, skillsets, parts, materials, equipment, and special tools required to complete planned tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Develop and consistently enhance and improve the preventive maintenance program in response to equipment performance, OEM recommendations, and employee knowledge and observations. Develop, implement, and manage the plant maintenance parts, supplies, and tools strategy. Manages maintenance technical documentation for plant equipment and systems. Assist with CMMS administration, inventory control, and purchasing.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years experience in maintenance supervision, scheduling and planning in CPG manufacturing required; 5+ years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician required. Associate's degree in maintenance, electricity, engineering, automation, or other related discipline required. Ability to uphold safety and quality standards, drive continuous improvement processes, and develop maintenance manufacturing best practices. Proficient in developing maintenance documentation and standards. Ability to communicate technical information accurately and clearly cross functionally within different levels of the organization. Strong computer skills and knowledge of CMMS software. Beginner/Intermediate Microsoft Office Experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Able to stand or sit for prolonged hours, lift 50 lbs. and climb stairs. Must be able to travel 10% of the time and work varying shifts and weekends, at times, to support project execution requirements Preferred place of residence: Palestine, Texas, or surrounding areas.
