Job Description

We're searching for a Maintenance Lead who brings more than just technical know-how—you'll be a coach, a problem-solver, and a driving force behind a well-maintained, high-performing property. As a Maintenance Lead, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity and safety of the property, guiding your team to meet company standards, and ensuring every maintenance interaction leaves a positive impression. You'll balance leadership, hands-on work, and team development while delivering a high-quality experience for our residents. Key Responsibilities Lead and facilitate daily maintenance operations Provide ongoing training and support to your team Perform daily property inspections Maintain organized inventory and oversee purchasing as needed Build and maintain strong relationships with residents and vendor partners, ensuring a courteous and professional experience Take an active role in promoting a culture based on Kartchner's values and commitment to service Step in to perform Maintenance Technician duties as needed Keep all shared spaces clean and safe Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergency maintenance issues Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations Report budget-impacting concerns (life safety, property damage, etc.) to the Property Manager Maintain and account for company tools and equipment What's Required to Be Considered A confident, organized leader who thrives on results and meaningful relationships A strong communicator who leads with positivity, integrity, and accountability A self-starter who takes initiative and holds themselves and others to high standards Someone who embraces challenges and celebrates growth—for themselves and their team Ideal Experience Two years of experience in a maintenance leadership role within the multifamily industry or equivalent experience working in a maintenance leadership position
