We seek a Journeyman Facilities Planner available to start immediately and capable of thriving in a challenging, process?oriented environment. The Journeyman Facility Planner performs engineering duties supporting the planning, design, and oversight of construction and maintenance for buildings, facilities, and road networks. The role supports Joint Theater Distribution Center (JTDC) planning and design across the Pacific region and delivers scalable, resilient, mission?ready infrastructure for operations in contested and austere environments. The planner works in a dynamic, fast?paced setting, supporting infrastructure projects that enable joint force logistics and distribution. The position may require work in austere, contested, or degraded environments while ensuring resilient and scalable facility solutions. This role contributes directly to mission?critical operations by advancing the planning, design, and construction of facilities that strengthen joint force logistics and sustainment across the Pacific region.

Responsibilities:

Facilities Planning and Design Assist in developing facility plans and layouts for JTDCs, including site layouts, building structures, utilities, and associated road networks. Conduct site assessments to evaluate environmental, operational, and infrastructure suitability. Support the design of modular, scalable, and rapidly deployable infrastructure systems. Ensure facility designs align with joint force logistics and distribution objectives, including interoperability with coalition and host-nation infrastructure. Construction Oversight Monitor construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, timelines, and budgets. Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to address technical and logistical challenges. Conduct quality control inspections to ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Maintenance and Sustainment Support the development of maintenance and sustainment plans for JTDC facilities. Assist in identifying and addressing structural or operational deficiencies through inspections and assessments. Recommend improvements or modifications to enhance facility performance and mission support. Collaboration and Coordination Work closely with senior planners, engineers, and logisticians to ensure facility planning aligns with operational requirements. Support the integration of JTDC facilities with theater movement control and transportation assets. Participate in planning meetings and provide input on project progress and challenges. Reporting and Documentation Prepare and maintain detailed facility plans, reports, and specifications for JTDC projects. Document project progress, including timelines, budgets, and key milestones. Provide updates to leadership on the status of facility planning and construction activities.

Security Clearance:

US Citizenship required; must possess a Secret clearance.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility planning, design, and construction, with a focus on infrastructure projects, preferably in a military or government environment. Proficiency in facility planning and design principles, including site layout and infrastructure development. Familiarity with engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D). Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience supporting military or government infrastructure projects, particularly in the

USINDOPACOM

area of responsibility (AOR). Familiarity with logistics and distribution requirements for JTDCs. Good organizational skills to balance and prioritize work. Analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot problems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel and work in remote or contested environments as needed.
