Job Overview Must have Service Manager Experience We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Director to lead our automotive service department with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive the growth of our automotive repair and maintenance services. Your leadership will inspire a high-performing team of service technicians and mechanics, fostering a culture of excellence, efficiency, and continuous improvement. The Service Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of service operations, from estimating and repair diagnostics to client communication and sales growth, ensuring every vehicle receives top-tier care. Duties Lead and motivate the service team to deliver outstanding automotive repairs, including diagnostics, transmissions, brake repair, suspension, tire service, shocks & struts, oil changes, air brake systems, and collision repair. Oversee the entire customer experience from initial vehicle intake to final delivery, ensuring clear communication and high satisfaction levels. Manage service writing processes using estimating software and auto estimating tools to accurately assess vehicle repairs and generate detailed work orders. Drive sales through upselling additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, or suspension repairs while maintaining integrity and customer trust. Monitor shop productivity and workflow to optimize efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Conduct regular training sessions on automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and the latest repair techniques to keep the team at the forefront of industry standards. Handle cash transactions responsibly and ensure proper documentation for all financial dealings related to service work. Utilize computer-aided vehicle damage estimating systems for collision repairs and damage assessments. Maintain comprehensive records of all service activities, client communications, estimates, and repair orders for accountability and continuous improvement. Qualifications Proven experience in auto service management or dealership environments with a strong background in automotive repair and diagnostics. Extensive mechanic experience with knowledge of transmissions, brake systems, suspension components, air brakes, oil changes, tire services, shocks & struts. Proficiency in estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools. Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on client communication and satisfaction. Demonstrated ability to upsell services ethically while maintaining trust with customers. Experience in auto service sales or auto estimating is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in cash handling and record keeping.
