We are a well-established, family-owned commercial and industrial electrical contractor in Norfolk, and we're looking for a hands-on Fleet & Equipment Manager to run our shop. You'll own our tools, equipment, vehicles, and material flow so our field crews have what they need, when they need it. This is a leadership role where you'll set the standard for how our shop runs and lead a small shop team. Why Join Us Competitive pay. The salary is $65,000 to $79,000 per year, plus a company bonus. What You'll Do Organize the shop so every tool, piece of equipment, and material has a clear home Track tool and equipment condition and availability, and flag damaged or missing items Manage fleet upkeep, including inspections, oil changes, preventive maintenance, and vendor repairs, and keep accurate records Handle minor repairs you can do safely, and get leadership approval before costly repairs Operate a forklift; load and unload trucks, trailers, and heavy materials; check in deliveries and returns Lead a shop team member by assigning daily tasks and keeping the work safe and on track What You Need Experience running a tool room, fleet, warehouse, or construction shop Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record Forklift experience, or willingness to get certified after hire Mechanical aptitude and good judgment on when to repair and when to send out Strong organization, recordkeeping, and dependable follow-through Clear English communication for safety instructions and documentation Ability to pass a pre-employment background check Nice to Have Prior lead or supervisor experience in a shop, fleet, warehouse, or construction setting Experience handling trailers and contractor equipment Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid vacation Paid holidays Company bonus Work Environment This is an active shop role that involves standing, walking, bending, and moving materials.
